Designing motor control algorithms for traction and non-traction applications.
Work with various PWM schemes such as space vector and discontinuous modulation.
Work on various control techniques such as torque control techniques such as field-oriented control and direct torque control.
Test the motor and inverter to verify the model and controller design
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support design and projects
Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis to achieve timely and robust issue resolution
Test/benchmark designs against the standards
Skills and qualification
Basic proficiency with embedded firmware development in C/C++
Modelling and control system design
Must know Various motor technologies including some or all of the motor BLDC motors, PMSM, Induction Motors, and Switched reluctance Motors.
Strong fundamentals of AC electric motors and drive systems analysis, modelling and control
Solid background in linear systems analysis, stability, and controller design, Basic proficiency with embedded firmware development in C/C++
At least a Master in EE/ME/Mechatronics or equivalent, and greater than 5 years of experience in the implementation of controls in traction motor or other inverter-fed drives
